The Adaptive Narcissism Scale (ANS) is a psychometric tool used to measure adaptive narcissism. Adaptive narcissism refers to a tendency of self-evaluation, including pride in oneself, self-confidence in oneself, recognition of one’s own merits and sense of accomplishment, while maintaining the ability to pay appropriate attention to and respect others.
Although the word narcissism often has negative connotations, adaptive narcissism is a positive form of narcissism, as opposed to unhealthy narcissism (e.g., arrogance, hubris, lack of empathy, etc.). Adaptive narcissism is associated with positive mental health, achievement, and relationship quality.
The ANS is a scale measuring adaptive narcissism developed by Konrath, Meier, and Bushman in 2014. Items include evaluations of pride in oneself, self-confidence in oneself, and recognition of one’s own strengths. The higher the score, the stronger the individual’s tendency towards adaptive narcissism.
It should be noted that the Adaptive Narcissism Scale is only a psychometric tool and cannot be used as a basis for diagnosing narcissistic personality disorder. If you have questions about your mental state or need professional evaluation, please consult a mental health professional.
This test is designed to assess your traits and tendencies in adaptive narcissism. Adaptive narcissism refers to the tendency to have confidence in one’s own abilities and image, to have a positive self-evaluation, and to deal effectively with challenges. Adaptive narcissism is more strongly associated with positive mental health and adaptive behavior than maladaptive narcissism.
In this test, you will answer a series of questions about self-evaluation, confidence, adaptability, and social interaction. Please choose the option that best suits your situation. Please answer the questions in a way that reflects your thoughts and actions as truthfully and accurately as possible.
In addition to the Adaptive Narcissism Scale, we also provide other related testing tools, including NPI-16 (16-item Narcissistic Personality Index), NPI-56 (56-item Narcissistic Personality Index) and MNS (non- Adaptive Narcissism Scale). These tests can help you gain a comprehensive understanding of your own manifestations and tendencies in relation to narcissistic traits.
After completing the test, you will receive a score that reflects your level of adaptive narcissism. Please note that this test is for informational purposes only and does not represent a professional diagnosis or evaluation. If you have any concerns about your mental state or need professional advice, please consult relevant professionals.
