What is success? A British philosopher once gave a relatively accurate definition of success: ‘Success is to gradually achieve the goal worth achieving.’ Let’s interpret this definition word by word. ‘Step by step’ means that it takes a process of effort. ‘Implementation’ emphasizes the need for a tangible result. ‘Worth attaining’ as an attribution limits the goal to a positive sense, distinguishing it from negative goals, such as the criminal’s evil purpose. The difference between successful people and losers is: successful people are pioneering and innovative; losers stick to the rules. Successful people look forward to the future; losers regret the past. Successful people are humble; failures are arrogant. Successful people are down-to-earth; losers are ambitious. Those who succeed face difficulties; those who fail will retreat when they encounter difficulties. The successful do not say; the loser says but does not do. Successful people value dedication; failures value reward. Successful people do not be proud of their contributions; losers become arrogant when they succeed. The successful person only says it after he has thought about it; the loser only thinks after he has finished speaking. Successful people find lessons after making mistakes; losers find excuses after making mistakes.
