About Napoleon Bonaparte

Napoleon Bonaparte (French: Napoléon Bonaparte/Italian: Napoleone Buonaparte, August 15, 1769 - May 5, 1821), also known as Napoléon I, was a small nobleman born in Corsica. With his outstanding military talents and iron-fisted political reforms, he left an indelible mark on human history. He participated in a total of sixty battles in his life and lost only seven times. He was honored as the 'God of War' by the Prussian military strategist Clausewitz. From the first signs of the siege of Toulon, to the summit of power in the Coup of Brumaire, to the myth of the 'Grand Army' sweeping across the European plains, Napoleon not only established the largest empire in Europe since Charlemagne, but also reshaped the legal cornerstone of modern Western society through the Napoleonic Code.

However, the complexity of Napoleon goes far beyond the battlefield maps. He was a pioneer in implementing liberal reforms and a dictator who restored slavery and established a hereditary monarchy. He is not only the 'little corporal' affectionately called by the soldiers, but also the 'outlaw maniac' that the European powers joined forces to encircle and suppress. His power reached its peak when the Treaty of Tilsit was signed in 1807, but it was destroyed in the fire and severe winter of Moscow in 1812. His image has been constantly interpreted and reconstructed in historians, writers and even two-dimensional ACG works. He is still one of the most controversial and famous historical titans in Western civilization.
