What is the MBTI test?
The MBTI (Myers-Briggs Type Indicator) was developed by Catherine Cook Briggs and her daughter Isabel Briggs Myers based on psychologist Carl Jung's theory of psychological types. It divides human personality into four dimensions:
Energy source: extroversion vs introversion
Extroversion (E) gets energy from social interaction and the external world, and introversion (I) gets energy from solitude and the inner world.
Information acquisition: real sense vs intuition
The Sensing type (S) focuses on specific details and current reality, while the Intuitive type (N) focuses on overall patterns and future possibilities.
Decision-making style: thinking vs. emotion
The thinking type (T) makes decisions based on logic and objective analysis, while the emotional type (F) prioritizes values and interpersonal harmony.
Lifestyle: Judgment vs. Perception
The Judging type (J) likes planning and certainty, while the Perceiving type (P) likes flexibility and open choices.
